Jaisalmer Trip (The Golden City)

 Jaisalmer Trip (Golden City)

 (23-27 December 2025)

Jaisalmer, A Golden Jewel of Rajasthan. For years, Jaisalmer had been attracting me, and now I finally got the chance to admire the Golden City." On 22nd of December we caught out train HWH JU EXPRESS (12307) from Agra Fort to Jodhpur at 7.30 pm. Train was at right time and it brought us to Jodhpur 30 minutes before of schedule time means we were at Jodhpur station at 4.50 am. It was a comfortable journey. Jodhpur was not so cool , weather was very pleasant there. We stayed there for one night and decided to go to Jaisalmer early in morning of 24th December by SBIB JSM SUP EXP (20492) at 6.20 am. On 24th December we reached there at 12.00 pm and booked a room at Welcome Heritage Kalyan Bhawan near Gandhi Chawk (main market).

The Hotel was located in the heart of jaisalmer city, very convenient for exploring different places like Fort, local market, Mandir Palace , Moti Mahal, Lake etc.  Many good restaurants were there near the property to enjoy the food, coffee and tea. After having the lunch we went to the Jaisalmer Fort. At first glance, the fort didn't seem very grand or unique; it appeared quite common and ordinary. To know about the fort's history, we hired a local guide who charged us ₹300. He showed us all the important parts of the fort and shared its fascinating history. Story about the kings, maharajas and Deewans of the jaisalmer was quite exciting and interesting. Reaching the top of the fort was an extraordinary experience, offering a stunning view of the entire Jaisalmer, which truly appeared as the Golden City. After that we visited Nachana Haveli which was a old heritage Haveli cum Hotel. After returning back we enjoyed Pyaj Kachori and Dinner.

As the next day was 25th December Christmas day we wanted to celebrate it by enjoying cultural programme at sand dunes camping so we booked a cab in rs. 3000 and reached Sam Village. We had already booked a cottage in Shiv Tara camps along with camel ride and Jeep safari in rs. 7500 for one night. In the evening first we started the camel ride to the desert and witnessed the marvelous Sunset in the desert. It was an awesome experience.

"Amid the golden sands of Jaisalmer, the sunset paints a masterpiece in the sky, reminding us that even in the vastness of the desert, beauty knows no bounds."

After enjoying a camel ride, we returned to the camp and spent the night enjoying a Rajasthani cultural program with snacks and dinner.

Next morning was started with a thrilling Jeep Safari in the Desert it was one of the best  memorable and worth experience of Jaisalmer. With many wonderful memories of the Sam Dunes desert, we returned to Jaisalmer once again and explored the remaining points. We visited Salim Singh Ki Haveli, which had an entry charge of ₹100 per person (I personally found this Haweli worthless to visit) There was nothing to see aside a ruins and the Mandir Palace, with a charge of ₹280 per person (It was also okay type, not even interesting) and lake. The lake was free to visit, but boating had a separate charge. Since we weren't particularly interested in boating, we enjoyed exploring the surroundings instead.

Overall Jaisalmer will remain in my heart only for its desert beauty and aesthetic and cultural silver jewellery which I bought from there. Its a one time trip only for 2 days max 3 days. If you are fond of historical places, forts and architecture you must go Jaisalmer.

Thank You

Chail Trip

         Chail, Himachal Pradesh
             (13 -18 June 2024)

I really follow a quote "Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.” life is too short , make sure you enjoy its every moment.Travelling has special importance in my life, After marriage, I started travelling with my husband. He loved travelling and I also started enjoying it. We used to plan one or two trip in every summer vacations and winter vacations. We have visited many places till now.
This is my first vlog on traveling, we were in Chail, Himachal Pradesh this year. It was a wonderful trip I swear. I love to spend some time in the lap of nature and Chail was the perfect destination for 'Sukoon' .
So there were two ways of reaching there from Agra, One from Via Chandigarh and second via Kalka. We got confirmed tickets of Chandigarh so we decided to go via Chandigarh route. We started our journey at 7.00pm from Agra and reached Chandigarh early in the morning around 4.00 am.
After getting down at the station we first had tea and sandwiches, got rid of the laziness and went out of the station. Many taxi drivers started coming to us and offered to take us to our destination. Finally we booked a taxi for Rs. 4000 to drop to the Chail.
The taxi had dropped us at Sadhupul a little before Chail in about 3 hours.
We were 6 adults and 2 children in this trip .We had booked camping at Sadhupul, so we had to stayed for a day on the river side. It was an awesome experience of camping, the surrounding was mind blowing and peaceful. We booked two luxurious cottages because of children. After reaching the room, we freshened up, ate and drank and first of all we took some rest.In the afternoon everyone had taken lunch, took some photographs of the surroundings and set out for trekking towards a waterfall.
The roads were very beautiful and we enjoyed a lot. After descending there was a small river flowing, which we had to cross to reach the waterfall. The roads were as beautiful as they were dangerous  and our first wicket was down when the first person from our group slipped while crossing the river.Although the river was not deep but it was full of big stones due to which there was a great risk of getting hurt. However, no one got hurt much and we all gathered ourselves and started moving forward. As we moved a little further, the second wicket also fell down. My sister slipped very hard and fell in the water. This time we were scared because she had a lot of trouble in getting up, but fortunately in some time she felt okay and we started moving ahead. Unfortunately the first person slipped again and now all of us started feeling really scared. We all thought a lot about whether we should go ahead or go back. There we saw some local people and we asked them how far the waterfall was. They said it was about 2 km further .It was getting dark and we all were scared too so finally I decided to return back to the Hotel and spend sometime near our riverside Hotel. Now we came back to hotel and also drank local apple juice on the way. After 15 minutes, we reached the river flowing near the hotel and sat there on the rocks in the water and enjoyed the cool breeze and calm waves.Sitting there it felt like all the tiredness vanished. Enjoyed Maggie, tea, and cold drinks at the riverside restaurant. We stayed there till 8 pm and then came to room and had dinner.
Second day we checked out our room and decided to go to Chial by bus.It was approximately 12 kilometers away and it took us 40 minutes to reach Chail. After reaching Chail first we booked a Hotel near the bus stand it was beautiful Hotel and location was very convenient as it was near the bus stand, Taxi stand and Chail Palace. There are too many Hotels near the bus stand so anyone can get a room very easily. As it was a noon first we had taken lunch in a restaurant,And after eating, we booked a taxi from the taxi stand because there were 8 people among us, so we had to take a bigger car which cost Rs. 1500 for two points at the rock temple and Kali Tibba temple. Both the places were on very height and the route to reach there is very beautiful and dangerous too specially of stone temple. Both temples were awesome and artful.
              Stone temple
                 Kali Tibba

After visiting both the places, we returned to the taxi stand and after trekking about 2 kms, we reached a beautiful Gurudwara in the evening. It was so beautiful and peaceful you will not feel like coming back from there. We spend around 1.30 hour at Gurudwara and returned to our Hotel. On the way to the hotel, some Himachali boys were playing cricket. We requested them to make us play with them, Himachalis are so good that they would happily let us offered batting first. This 25 minute game made our trip extra special. It was 15 June which was the birthday date of my son so we celebrated it in the Hotel's restaurant.
Next morning we We went to Chail Palace on foot because it was near our hotel, the way to reach the palace was very beautiful and the palace was also very beautiful. Entry fee is 200 rupees per person,3 idiots movie was shot in this palace. Palace also have arrangements of staying, many cottages and rooms are available but the charges are a bit higher.we spend 3 hours there and returned back and checked out Hotel. We reached Kalka and  caught a train to Agra.
Overall it was a wonderful trip with my family if someone want a peaceful time especially at place of peace amidst nature, it is the best place near Delhi.
